preparation for assignments.

I exactly don't have any story for the comic yet. The main thing is to start with something otherwise I would fall behind.

 


These are some of the basic comic styles we can do. personally, I am a bit challenging person who likes to do advance start but to go.

Character Development

Designing any coming up with my character for my first assessment.

Outfit and specs: 

Developing this character was pretty easy.
Looks:  His upper body is more round and fat with a skinny jeans outfit. He wears a white converse. with a converse logo sign on it.



These are some of my additional thoughts and character art for my story. But I'm not sure whether I'll be using it for my project. Anyways, the image shows a teen boy riding a hoverboard. I think this character would look cool in my story adding vibrant characteristics.

My next goal is to come up with a proper story and give these character a personality.

Velika meeting ( The Big Meeting 1951)
In 1951 The studio called Duga Film made a first cartoon video namely The Big Meeting. The Maar brothers from Germany collaborated with  Fadil Hadzic to create the satirical short Veliki Miting. This video was particularly made to celebrate the identity of Yugoslavia. The video is about nineteen minutes and 22-second long. The direct link to this video can be found below.

From my understanding everything about spectacular propaganda, soviet union overcoming. The message to the USA to remind the copying was on purpose.
What do you think about the cartoon style?
The animation is simply amazing and smooth at the same time. The video seems to be in black and white.

Neighbours 1952

Norman McLaren was a Scottish Canadian animator.

Stop motion techniques used inhuman and flower. it belongs to me according to the property. creates conflicts among the two. Anyhow they try to protect a flower.

competition among employers on who can type and perform the best, they have become more like a machine.
A man Sadly walks away from the work. tries to show a lady as a dead, more like a soul chasing a man. He feels like his work is chasing him and stressing him out. he becomes mentally ill. rests in the hospital. escapes to the outside world, but stills old thoughts bothers him a lot to become sad and go back to work again. Very nice story concepts and greatly presented, its style is more like 2d infographics, and more psychedelic style,

Week 1

Course Outline. what we'll be doing this semester. I had a look through the comic book.

Looked out some style of comics, impressed by one of the comic books by Bras de Oliva Domingos.


In this book, I particularly like its art style.



I think I will follow the same drawing style. I don't know how easy or convenient it is going to be but I really like the drawing style for this comic, if not possible this time, It is in my bucket list to do for next comic.
Lines are not perfect but body symmetry are proportional and convey meaning. I would say it is a very good skill and nicely done comic by the author.   I reserved the book for my future learning and hopefully I mange to read it as well.

Week 1, Class 2 - Peg animation, Writing treatments, loglines

72 dpi is recommended.
might use harmony to preserve quality loss. might use photoshop as well if you don't have experimented with workflow, preproduction time. not to forget all the tricks and stuff you can use,

Basic Structure:
a character wants something badly

he meets with conflict
Things get worse until the character is in crisis

The Short story has One character that wants something badly an is having trouble getting it.
That trouble is the most other character or environment that causes conflict
The resolution of the conflicts to the conflicts communicates Ine specific idea, theme, or concept.







rather than making character perfect, relate to their environment. their identification, how they talk, attitude, character, etc.

Stop motion animation?
When the static object is manipulated overtime in a sequential with a slight movement. A moving image is formed and the process is called Stop motion.  some of the methods used for this type of animation are Clay figures, puppets, and miniatures, paper, photographs, etc.

Which movie have you seen as a stop motion animation?
After knowing what stop motion technique really was, I realized the movie I watched when I was a kid like chicken run, Shaun the sheep, Robocup.


Assessment overview, briefly explained by the tutor. Assessment should be handed in time. for further Extension, you might ask Katherine.

In the personal blog, you can express about the group work but not personal help from the tutor.
We are here to get trained, use the camera very effectively.

Individual research and explanation for the blog should be personal and of their own.

The trailer basically showed the development of the friendships between the young girl and old man, the man didn't know anyone from Australia and they kept on messaging with each other.
I really liked the way it is made, mostly was of lay animation.

Dance moves looked good with the proper pose.

Comments by the narrator were so funny, each of them was hand-drawn and animation was very smooth. SIT has a video for this animation.

Lotte Reiniger Documentary.
she is passionate, mostly paper cutout is done to perform character movement. character is mostly dark and black in color while placed in a very bright background it makes a very distinct contrast. This helps character movement to be outlined clearly.
Character's body parts are continuously moved between the shots and individual shots are captured by the camera.

Scissors plays an extremely vital role to design background. movements are written.

Week One, Class one – Outline, pipeline, story ideas, pre-production

Class outline on how this semester and assessments are going to be.

An example of her previous assignments were shown. which basically gave me the concepts of what to be done.

 A brief explanation for the sencond assessment.
Not more than 2 characters and 5 environments. Should have a clear motivation, to target audience. motivation arc and resolution, high quality of drawing and your style of drawing and should be consistent. The label of detail must match, an important, to story visual should complement, easily read by your audience, perspective, grammar, quality, continuity, camera movement not to be too much; might me  distracting, jump shots, make sure things make sense, let someone enjoy your work not to be questioned, or feel boreing.

Character, the foundation should be applied, final coloring and shading, shading might vary from lighting and shots. All elements including audio, animation, style, composition, set design, drawing, backgrounds, text graphics, and story have to come together to create a unique, interesting, and appealing animation that can be put into your showreel in the future.



Numerous videos were shown in the class of previously graduated students. Most of them were highly executed.

I like the story and concepts of the video done by students of students. The one with the fishing on a boat, I liked the character and the style of the video, It was more like an explainer video animation, which I am always fascinated by. I think I'll be doing a similar character and video style. unfortunately, I couldn't see any character movement of a fisherman wearing war helmet, If the added movement for that character would make it more better.


Be making the plan and stick to what you'll be doing, document the stuff you have done.
